Creating a site

The person says: “Set up a site for the new venue, same look as the others.”

Creating a site provisions a whole Cloudflare stack and starts billing, so a person does it, in the Empress console (Sites, then New site). Everything after that is the agent’s: confirm the site, give it its theme and content, and ship its first page.

  1. Empress:whoami — after the person says the site is created: its slug, and that its status is active. A site still provisioning says so; wait and ask again.
  2. Empress:site_status — the new site: nothing staged, the theme it follows, and the theme brief’s address.
  3. Empress:changeset_create — title is the person’s sentence.
  4. Empress:theme_stage — the theme the person named (ref: "latest", or a session or branch as session), with changeset.
  5. Empress:site_call — the first copy: tool: "content_update" (args: the item’s collection, id and the changed fields in data), with changeset.
  6. Empress:site_preview — the stage at three widths.
  7. Empress:changeset_promote — once the person agreed; confirm: true.
  8. Empress:site_preview — target: "live".
  • The person creates; the agent completes. Never ask for credentials to create a site; there is no agent path for it on purpose.
  • “Same look as the others” means the same theme, not a copy of their content; to copy a whole site, see cloning-a-site.
  • A group keeps many sites on one theme; ask whether the new site joins one before staging a theme of its own.
